Why we chose Jordan

Our pursuit of the strongest healthcare domain and operational depth brought us to Jordan Silvergleid. One of our longtime advisors, Frank Williams, who has spent much of his career building for and serving health systems, introduced Jordan as someone we should be learning from. We brought him on as an advisor, and over the last three months he helped us navigate important milestones and shaped how we think about use case and domain strategy.

Jordan has spent 25 years in healthcare across the provider, payer, and employer sides of the market — fifteen years building and scaling impactful solutions for health systems at The Advisory Board Company, then as cofounder of Centivo, a Series C company, which aligns employers with high-value health systems, then as Chief Product Officer of Evolent.

We live in our customers' offices and facilities. Investing in someone who has spent 25 years working on their hardest problems is invaluable to how we build.

That's why we're thrilled to announce that Jordan is joining Luminai as Head of Strategy.

Why now

I spent my first decade and a half in healthcare helping health systems solve specific problems — we leveraged the best technologies at the time to pinpoint the issues and drivers, but people largely had to carry the fixes through. I spent my next ten years with employers and payers, learning just how much high-functioning health systems matter to everyone else.

Twenty-five years in, the problems facing health systems have shifted but haven’t gone away — and the financial pressures have never been more acute. Investing more deeply in patient care and experience requires meaningful reduction in administrative and operational burden. But doing that in a serious way has been difficult as many of these processes resist easy automation and cut across systems, characteristics which have bedeviled historical approaches.

That’s what has now changed. AI has the potential to actually take on that work — and it unlocks two opportunities: (1) health systems can reimagine processes instead of automating broken ones, and (2) the people currently stitching those processes together can spend their time on what's actually most valuable to patients.

Foundation models are remarkable, but this is not work you can “improvise.” Health systems and their patients need consistency. Getting there takes deliberate work — how to orchestrate and constrain the models, and how to wrap people and process around them.

Luminai does exactly that.

Why Luminai

I knew I wanted to join — or start — a company that would harness the transformational power of AI. Three things convinced me Luminai was the right bet.

First, the market opportunity. As part of my advisory work, I spent several weeks talking with chief digital and innovation officers at leading health systems about the emerging AI landscape. What came across consistently in those conversations was the desire for a platform — not another point solution — that can safely and reliably orchestrate work across functions and systems AND that delivers meaningful value along the way. That's what Luminai is building.

Second, the team. Deep technical talent is table stakes for an AI-native company. What's rarer is technical talent paired with a genuine willingness to understand healthcare's complexity — as well as a values-oriented culture where the best idea wins, regardless of whose it is. I saw both.

Third, the track record. Luminai isn't a thesis. The technology has been running complex operational workflows in production for years, and it's now pointed exclusively at healthcare. That focus matters: health systems are complex enough to deserve a team that works on nothing else.

I am fired up to join the team and look forward to exciting years ahead.

What this means for the people we serve

Extending our healthcare depth is about making sure the work we do moves the needle for health systems and the patients they serve. Bringing on people like Jordan is how we make sure it does.
